"Pittwater Youth Hostel is smashing hostel in the middle of the Ku-ring-gai National Park. I never imagined staying in Sydney would be anything like this. If you don't mind a little bit of a hike to get here but it is well worth it. Beautiful spot - highly recommended." Julie
"The Cottage is simply lovely. I found myself drawn to the deck over and over again. The little touches Deirdre has provided shine through making the cottage very homely from the cute lighthouse lamps in the bedroom to the quality furnishing and fittings. Added to this, Ewingsdale is a very attractive countrified village very close to Byron. The local restaurant, complete with swimming pool, is also top notch. Best of all is the hospitality you'll receive from Deirdre and Robert. My 6 year old daughter best summed that up as she proudly told our friends/neighbours upon our return home - "My favourite neighbour lives in Byron Bay" Helen

"From the moment we walked in the door, Owl's Cottage felt like home. It was like visiting your best friend who said 'Look, I have to leave but make yourself at home" Anything that you think of you may need is right there. Everything has been thought of". John
"Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. A little more free space for storing suitcases would be useful" Margaret

We went on a recent family holiday to the country. We booked the farmhouse at Wilber Station in Gulargambone. I know, next question: "Where the *&%$ is that?" It is between Coonamble and Gilgandra and 40 minutes west of the Warrumbungle National Park, about 6 hours from Sydney. We found the old homestead to be full of memories as well as wonderful views. The house is a 1920's homestead; wrap around verandas, slab preparation table in the kitchen, swimming pool (water tank cut in half), tennis courts (just a tad below Wimbledon standards), yabbies a plenty, dress up clothes for the littlies. or the not so little, BBQ, plenty of space and activities to keep even our five teenage boys and girls occupied.
Our host: Sandra Kelly was wonderful (and the leg of lamb we brought home with us was yummy!) Wilber is a working sheep, cattle and wheat farm. You can help with the farm, or not; you can hike in the Warrumbungle's, or not; you can visit the town, or not; as Wilber Farmhouse motto says; Do as little or as much as you please.
I booked the IBIS Hotel through Virgin Holidays. The IBIS was very good, reasonably cheap, close to the touristy stuff (between Liverpool and Goulbourn Streets), good service and nice clean rooms.

The rooms at the IBIS Hotel at Sydney Airport are on the small size but modern, clean and of excellent quality. I found it amazingly quiet and relaxful. The restaurant was better than expected. Staff are polite and friendly.
